The book

BESPOKE — a novel by David J. Colón
A novel of doors, devotion, and the maintenance department of eternity.

BESPOKE — a novel of doors, devotion, and the maintenance department of eternity. For readers of Piranesi and A Gentleman in Moscow.

Every building has a maintenance department. Most of them fix boilers. One of them keeps eternity in working order — the doors, especially, since everything that matters arrives through a door and most of it leaves the same way.

Bespoke is literary fiction with a speculative hinge. It is about devotion measured in small repairs, about the doors we choose to open slowly, and about the one order that cannot be filled no matter how well the work is done. It is a quiet book. Quiet books keep.

The facts

The house

Best Kept Press is an independent publisher. It has a small catalog because small is the method, not the limitation: a book is chosen, edited, and set before the next is considered. The press would rather publish one book that keeps than ten that merely arrive.

The house does not advertise, does not trend, and does not hurry. It is run by people who believe that a book, properly made, is its own introduction.

Est. 2026. By referral.

The cover art
